How to convert a PDF to JPG images
Sometimes a PDF is the wrong shape for what you need. Why turn a PDF into images at all?

The one setting that matters most is resolution — how many pixels each page is rendered at. Too low and the text looks soft or fuzzy; higher gives crisp text but larger files. A good rule of thumb:
- Around 150 DPI is the sweet spot for most uses — sharp on screen and in documents, without huge files.
- Higher (220 DPI or more) is worth it for detailed pages you'll zoom into, or anything with fine print.
- Lower is fine for a quick preview or thumbnail where size matters more than crispness.
If your converted text looks blurry, the fix is almost always to convert again at a higher resolution rather than to enlarge the blurry image afterwards — enlarging can't add detail that wasn't rendered in the first place.
JPG or PNG?
Most PDF-to-image conversions default to JPG, which is the right choice for pages with photos or lots of colour, and gives small files. If a page is mostly sharp text and line art and you want the crispest possible edges, PNG can look slightly cleaner — but for the vast majority of documents, JPG at a good resolution is perfectly sharp and far smaller. This one deserves emphasis. PDFs are frequently the most sensitive files people handle — contracts, bank statements, medical letters, official records.
